On October 30, 2008 the Federal Communications Commission published a final rule clarification on the Junk Fax Prevention Act of 2005. The clarification makes it easier to send facsimile advertisements to facsimile numbers obtained from a recipient’s own directory, advertisement or internet site provided certain provisions are followed. The effective date of the clarification is October 30, 2008.
